Sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev spoke about the performance of the Russian team in kayaking and canoeing at the Olympic Games – 2020 in Tokyo.

“There is a feeling that the coaches of the rowing team on kayaks and canoe need to change the work! The team arrived in Tokyo absolutely unprepared! – wrote the commentator in his Telegram channel.

At the Olympics, Russian rowers won three silver awards: Vasilisa Stepanova and Elena Oryabinskaya took in the medal in a deuce, as well as Anna Prakaten became the second alone, winning the first medal of this species for Russia for 41 years.

At the Olympics in Tokyo, the Russian team appears under the name ROC (Russian Olympic Committee), and instead of the anthem at the award ceremony, a fragment from the first concert for the piano with the orchestra of Peter Tchaikovsky will sound.

Due to the pandemic of coronavirus, the organizers of the competition strictly limited the movement of athletes. They are allowed to move only on specially rented transport only between the place of their placement and sports facilities.

The Olympics became the largest in the number of sports (33) and categories (339). It is expected that 19 thousand athletes will take part in the games in the Japanese capital.
