A story about a visit to a hockey match between the revived Moscow Wings of the Soviets and Dynamo from St. Petersburg.
09/09/2016 HC Wings of the Soviets (Moscow) – MHC Dynamo (St. Petersburg)
Despite the already abundant hockey week, I could not pass by such an event. Six years later, the legendary hockey “Wings of the Soviets” are returning to the big ice. In the first match of the Youth Hockey League, where they will play this year, the Wings in Setun hosted the St. Petersburg Dynamo.
This event was taken seriously. Even at the exit from the platform, I met a girl who was handing out invitation cards for the match. Posters of the upcoming fight hung on almost every post and on every bitch. Near the arena, a group of drummers beat out trills to solemn music. Inside the arena there are a couple of points with paraphernalia (as I understand it, one is the official club, the other is the guys from the Torpedo Design Bureau). They have everything you need: scarves, T-shirts, caps, pillows, mobile cases, etc. There is a power point.
The work of the organizers was not in vain and the hockey festival was a success. If there was no full house, then just a little was not enough for him. This evening, all generations of fans and those for whom the name Wings of the Soviets is not an empty phrase gathered at the arena in Setun – the elderly, young people, many parents with children, some of whom are engaged in the Wings hockey school, well, fans , where without them. At the beginning of the meeting, the fan sector, packed to capacity, located under the old arena scoreboard, was marked with a banner, the message of which was that the Wings “returned to win”, and then drove their team forward with powerful charges.
The Wings players, many of whom played for the first time with such a crowd of spectators, did not lose face. From the first minutes, the Setunians began to storm the opponents' gates. Guests from the Neva fought back and carried out retaliatory attacks, but the hosts' goalkeeper was reliable. The first period brought no goals.
The long-awaited goal of the blue and white took place at the end of the 7th minute of the second period, causing an incredible explosion of jubilation in the stands. Literally 10 minutes later, Dynamo slightly spoiled the festive mood of the local public, restoring the status quo on the scoreboard. A draw lasted on the scoreboard until the middle of the third period, when the Wings again managed to hit the gates of the guests, who remained in the minority. This was the last puck in the game, and after the final siren, the players and fans of the Wings celebrate the victory in the first match after the revival.
It remains only to congratulate Krylya Sovetov on their return and hope that the fans will continue to delight the team with such a wonderful atmosphere, and the team, in turn, will not remain in debt and will show good results.
