Swimmers from the Moscow region won 8 medals of the Russian Swimming Championship
RIAMO – May 1. At the Russian swimming championship, which was held in Kazan, swimmers from the Moscow region won 8 medals, the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Moscow Region reports.
Alexander Stepanov won 2 gold medals in the 800m and 1,500m freestyle swims. Anna Chernysheva also won a gold medal in the 200m individual medley. Ivan Girev won the silver medal after overcoming the distance of 200 m freestyle.
The team of the region won bronze in the 4x200m freestyle relay. The team included Alexander Andreev, Alexander Stepanov, Roman Akimov and Ivan Girev.
Tatyana Belonogoff and Evgeny Rylov took third place in the 100m breaststroke and 100m backstroke. Evgeny Sedov won bronze in the 50m freestyle.
The Russian Swimming Championship was held from 24 to 29 April.
